“My dream since studying Fine Art when I finished school was to work with clay. I fell in love with the process. The slow process of the hand building technique of coiling.” Shirley Hall

As I use the coiling technique to sculpt my ceramic vessels and designs, the main tool is my hands.

I simultaneously want to create  timeless, unique and modern products.

I am inspired by the  surrounding beauty of the little seaside village of Kalk bay where I live. The oceans ever changing tides, the rock pools, tidal pools and the rhythm of the moon and tides. This ebb & flow keeps me inspired and curious when I’m creating new shapes and designs.

I am passionate about creating unique pieces that are simple, clean and minimal vessels that exist long after any trend might fade. The Scandinavian  minimalist and timeless designs are my constant inspiration.

Meadow & Muse Ceramics is centred around the idea that things of value take time and care to create. My passion for clay and design is rooted in  a slower, more thoughtful approach and intention.
